Welcome to day 36 of our 40-day countdown to Easter 2019! Restoration of Glory. "Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so, you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours (Isaiah 61:7)."

Have you every done something that you were publicly humiliated for? There are famous people who have been publicly embarrassed.

There are common every day citizens who have experienced shame and embarrassment in their lives.

Has your shame destroyed your name, your reputation, and your ability to grow professionally or even spiritually?

Hopefully, you have learned from your past mistakes. God has forgiven you but the glory of your name has not yet been restored.

On April 14, 2019, we witnessed the glory of Tiger Woods name being restored in the golf community and abroad as he won his 5th Masters. Tiger Woods experienced public humiliation for his impropriety. In addition, he experienced health problems that hindered his ability to be his best in golf but he never gave up. Tiger kept his eyes on the prize.

Only God can restore an individual after public humiliation.

Repent of your waywardness.

Forgive those who have sinned against you.

Follow Christ and his teachings.

As you follow Christ, God will restore your glory! He will do it for the least of us.

SCRIPTURAL READING

Isaiah Chapter 61

PRAY THIS PRAYER OUT LOUD

Father God, I repent of my sins that have publicly shame me. Thank you for teaching me to walk in your ways. I ask you to restore my name. Restore my reputation. Restore my glory so that people will know that it’s you, and glorify your name. In the name of Jesus, amen.
