Our Story

We have first-hand experience with some of life’s challenges. Our lives have not been untouched by problems and unpleasant situations. Regina and I are overcomers by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev. 2:11).

THE FLOOD GATES OF HELL

In 2001, the flood gate of hell opened up in our lives. Our marriage plunged; our home was flooded; the church closed; and, then, the ultimate, a horrific automobile accident that nearly destroyed my entire family.

While driving on I-65 in route to Atlanta, our family was involved in a SUV rollover. Until this day, the accident was unexplained. We believe it was a direct attack from the enemy. Our two sons were not injured. I experienced injuries like broken ribs, lacerations on the arm, and bruised lungs but no surgery was needed, only medical observation for a few days.  Unfortunately, this was not the case for Regina. The hardest attack was on my wife. She experienced two concussions; a six-inch laceration in the top of her head; broken fingers, broken toes, broken fibula and tibia, a crushed wrist, a broken femur, a severely damaged left knee, and more. This was devastating for our family. It happened on our second son’s one-year old birthday. Over the next few months, we witnessed the power of God like never before. When Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 “… and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” we know that He is the solid rock. Although the enemy came at us, he had to flee because Jesus is the solid rock in our lives.

RESTORATION OF HOPE

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).  God:

  • restored our marriage.

  • restored our home.

  • restored Regina’s body.

  • restored our hope and future.

God restored Regina! Amen! My wife, Regina, fought the good fight of faith. When people visited her in the hospital, she prayed for them. I witnessed the power of the God’s grace and mercy like never before. He restored our hope. Then, He set us on a course to take a new direction.

Our family relocated to southern metropolitan Atlanta in 2002 to begin a new life. I served at a couple of churches in Atlanta, but in Acts 2:17 the word reads, 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

As we walked through the waters and fire, we began to see clearly again. We began to see a vision of people having their hope restored; their minds renewed; being set free and taught how to stay; experiencing lasting change so that they no longer live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. This is exactly what we have experienced with our walk with God.

HAVE FAITH FOR A NEED...FAITH FOR A DREAM...FAITH TO PLANT A SEED

We dreamed of planting a church with a simple goal - helping people connect with God so that they might reach their full potential. With the help of my family, that dream became a reality. We became High Hopes Church July 27, 2013. Today, we desire to reach the lost for Jesus Christ so that they may develop a relationship with Him and discover their true potential in life.

We stretched our faith to fulfill a need to see people’s hope restored and reach their full potential in life. We stretched our faith to dream, High Hopes Church and we stretched our faith to plant a seed of God's love to inspire hope and season faith in the lives of people.
