Be Enthusiastic!

Day 8 of 21 Days of Prayer. Be Enthusiastic! Of all the things we desire to accomplish in life, one thing is required for success ~ commitment. Commitment is a willingness, a promise or a firm decision to give your time and energy to do something that you believe in (The Cambridge Dictionary ). Yes, your goals for this year depend on commitment. Your success depends on a firm decision to what is needed. Your mind must be made up. But, I want to add the secret sauce to commitment ~ You must be enthusiastic! Dale Carnegie says, "Act enthusiastic and you will be enthusiastic".

Be enthusiastic about dedicating time to your goals.

Dedicating time means you must add the something new to your daily agenda. If you don't block out time that is specifically set aside to accomplish the task, it'll never get done. One thing is certain ~ if you aim nothing, you will hit it every time! Aim high with the arrow of enthusiasm behind your dreams, vision, and goals.

Spend personal energy on the task with enthusiasm.

After setting aside the time, you must willingly spend personal energy on the project. Fueling your project with an enthusiastic mindset will impact your physical, mental, and spiritual energies. New adventures always demand more from us, but we must approach them with enthusiasm and passion to finish.

You see, a lukewarm person is someone who is partially enthusiastic. Jesus puts it this ways, "I wish that you were cold (not enthusiastic) or hot (enthusiastic). But since you are lukewarm (partially enthusiastic) and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth." It's like expecting a sip of fresh hot coffee, but you didn't know it had been sitting so long that it's cold. Yuck! You will not finish that cup!

In the same way, if your commitment is lukewarm, your goal will be a hit or miss. You will be challenged during the course of your journey. At times, you may doubt your goals. You may even doubt yourself. You may feel as though you won't be able to make it, but you can eliminate those negative thoughts with some daily positive confessions.

When you begin to confess words of affirmation, enthusiasm will begin to rise up in you. Enthusiasm begins to percolate. Having an enthusiastic attitude about your goals is the fuel for your success. Brew your dreams with enthusiasm.

Eliminate your doubts and fears with an enthusiastic mind set.

With God's help, and an enthusiastic attitude, you can do anything you set your mind to.

LET'S PRAY

Lord, today I affirm my decision to finish what I have started with an enthusiastic attitude. I am a finisher not a quitter and because I firmly believe in what You have placed in my heart to do, I will give time and energy to the mission.

In those moments when I face a challenge, I declare that I am committed to my goals. I am decisive and dedicated until the end. I am fired up and sold out.

Yes Lord, no matter how difficult the test, I am pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God with an enthusiastic attitude.

In Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen!

Inspiring Hope and Seasoning Faith, Pastor Sean
