Day 16 of 21 Days of Prayer. "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you (2 Corinthians 6:17)." To be separate means to be distinct in our values, beliefs, and practices. God wants us to hold on to the cross in the midst of a world that is anti-Christ. At work, school, and the marketplace, we will encounter people that share a different belief system but that does not mean we quit our jobs or drop out of school to be separate.

We have been included in Christ when we received the message of truth. We have been marked by the Holy Spirit—a promise, a seal, and a down payment that cannot be removed (Ephesians 1:13).

You may sometimes feel as though connecting with some people drain your battery. You’re going one direction but they are going in a different direction from where you want to go. It’s like connecting jumper cables to a dead battery; no matter how long you try to share power, the cells are dead and will not hold a charge; all the good you have stored seems to be drained, leaving you stranded and distressed with no ability to resume your journey.

But let me remind you of what’s in you, the promise, the seal, and the down payment. This is what makes you powerful and separate. Our assignment is to be separate in our values, beliefs, and actions but unconnected, different, detached, and disconnected from practices of things that offend the cross.

DETACHED TO ATTRACT

Yes, when people are finished draining you, they will move on to someone else. But, you have a promise, a seal, and a down payment, which cannot be revoked. You are qualified to have your battery drained because you can be restored time and time again.

If you feel drained when someone leaves your presence, that is because the power of the Holy Spirit that’s in you has been released.

But you, can always recharge your battery by having a conversation with God.

You have more power in you than Georgia Power or EMC combined.

So, let your light shine in the workplace.

Let your light shine in the schools.

Let your light shine in the marketplace.

Let your light shine at home.

It may seem like the power is down for a little while once you’re drained, but pray and have a conversation with God, and the power will be restored.

You have been detached to attract people to the kingdom.

Let's pray!

Lord, restore my light. Restore my power. Restore my energy. Restore my power to impact people who are in need of the gospel of truth. Give me the ability to impact people who are in need of the promise, the seal, and the down payment. I thank you that I am detached to attract people to the kingdom. Let the world be charged by the magnetic effects of the Holy Spirit that dwells in me. Holy Spirit, recharge me right now to keep me separate from the things that offend the cross, but empower me to impact those in need of Jesus Christ.
