MIND YOUR BUSINESS

21 Days of Prayer ~ Day Four. Mind Your Business. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6 NIV)

Today's scripture reminds us that life is directly affected by what "governs" our mind. The life we live through our thinking is the secret to success and the reason for failure. If we are carnal, fleshy, worldly thinkers, our behavior and the decisions we make will reflect the unrest, self-centered, wishy-washy way of the world. A place that is indecisive, arrogant and disconnected from God. But those of us who are spiritually connected to God, are governed by peace and an unwavering faith that carries us through some of the most difficult circumstances that life can throw our way. It is a space where we care about others, demonstrate love for our fellow man, joyfully serve those in need and confidently lead by biblical principles. We intentionally mind our business with the mind of Christ. And the more we reflect the mind of Christ in this world, the more the hearts of men will see God's handiwork and find their way to our Creator.

"The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed." (Romans 8:7‭, ‬12‭-‬12‭, ‬14‭, ‬19 NIV)

Lord, let my witness be the reflection of a renewed mind. A mind governed by Your plans and purposes. Cause my words, actions and deeds to reveal the mighty love that you have toward mankind. Let peace abide, release joy through my attitude and bring mercy by every opportunity I am given to speak. I yield to Your thoughts and I embrace Your ways. I have the mind of Christ and will let that light shine before men, so they will see Your good works and glorify You! In Jesus name, Amen!
