PRACTICE THE TRUTH

40 Days of Amazing Love – A love letter from God -Day 17 PRACTICE THE TRUTH

DAILY DEVOTION

Romans 12:2 NLT

Do not be conformed to this world, [a] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

REFLECTION

His promises are for those who believe in the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

What does Romans 12 verse 2 really mean? Let me simplify it for you. This verse means Christians must change their low-level ethical behavior. Believers go to church, profess to believe in God’s word, but often go along with the practices of the world without having any consciousness that what they are doing is unbiblical and seriously wrong.

For instance, as Christians, we must not conform to cheating on our taxes. We must not conform to lying. We must not conform profanity and expletives. We must not conform to practices to be accepted by others. We must not conform to low-level ethical behaviors to blend in with the world.

We are members of a royal priesthood and a holy nation. Kings and Queens never try to fit in because they know they are stand out people. READ 1 Peter 2:9

God wants us to let our light shine in dark places.

God wants us to have compassion on the poor, needy, and elderly.

God wants us to walk the walk with Jesus Christ not just talk the talk. Our spiritual journey is a lifestyle not a fad.

Every step of our walk with Christ should be benchmarked by these questions:

  • Am I making decisions that God would consider GOOD?

  • Is my behavior ACCEPTABLE before God?

  • Does my motive align with God’s PERFECT word?

“As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him (Psalm 18:30).”

The issues in society that we witness today has everything to do with Christians' daily practices of walking with Christ Jesus. We must understand that God’s word is not just for Sunday worship and mid-week bible study. God wants us to hear the Word, receive the Word, and obey the word.

God wants us to practice the Truth.

Let the Spirit of Truth be your guide as you walk with Jesus Christ each and every day.

PRAYER DIRECTIVE

Ask the Lord to reveal to you ways you can reflect his love to others.
