40 Days of Amazing Love, a love letter from God – Day 3 Serve One Another in Love

DAILY DEVOTION

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Galatians 5:13-14

REFLECTION

The word serve means to yield to someone else’s request in love. “Through love and freedom we serve one another” does not mean we ask anyone to do something that’s hurtful or harmful or that is contrary to God’s word.

Do you serve only when it’s convenient for you? Or, do you serve at the request of your brothers and sisters with genuine humility, grace, and yieldedness?

PRAYER DIRECTIVE

Ask the Holy Spirit to brew over your heart to show you how to serve others in love. Pray that when you serve others your heart is filled with grace, humility, and love. Pray that you will serve others as yourself.

To serve others like yourself is love.
