Want it Bad Enough

Welcome to Day 14 of 21 Days of Prayer.  Want it bad enough. There are many things we want to achieve but sadly, we often fall short of accomplishing our goals. Experts tell us to set our goals high so if we fall short, we still accomplish more than when we started. That's nice. But, is that really what you want? You reached for the stars but ended up with clouds?

You say to yourself, "What can I do with clouds? All of my plans were for stars, and now I have a bag full of clouds."

Then something happens. You say, "Oh well, I should be thankful for clouds. I mean, I don't want to be ungrateful and after all, I didn't have any clouds when I started. Since the Bible says to be content with what you have, guess I'll make due with what these clouds."

REALLY????

Are you really going to just settle, throw in the towel and make it sound spiritual too? Will you act as if God has endorsed failing to reach the desired goal that He gave to you in the first place? Please don't do that.

It's so funny how people spin failures and short comings, as somehow being endorsed by God. Not so! God does not encourage us to settle for the mediocre or second best, after equipping you to grasp something greater.

For example, II Chronicles 15:7 says, "Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded."

HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT

Wow! Let not your hands be weak!  Weakness is a temptation to quit. As soon as you feel tired, stressed and maybe even inconvenienced by the challenge, you figure you're not strong enough.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

Newsflash! Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) When you get weak or tired, the Lord says get some rest but don't quit!

This has nothing to do with not being strong enough, the test is do you want victory badly enough to keep moving.

Whatever it is that you are striving to achieve, you have to want it so badly that quitting is not an option. Instead, you press in and stretch yourself beyond comfort UNTIL you find strength to cross the finish line!

Remember in 2 Chronicles 15:7, God says your work will be rewarded, as long as you dont quit. If God wanted you to be second, He would've given you the heart and desire for it. But if first is what He's promised and set you on that course, the only thing that can really stop you is you choosing to stop.

GOD IS IN YOUR CORNER

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

In the very next verse, the Apostle Paul lists some of the difficulties he faces but after facing them all in Christ, he declares, "...for when I am weak, then am I strong." That's you too! God's got you, just don't let go of Him!

The Bible is filled with so many encouraging passages that you can feed and fuel your spirit every single day of the year. Ask Alexa. Google it. Stream it. Download it. Read it! If you want victory badly enough, you will seek and by God's mercy and grace, you will find exactly what you need to finish strong in 2020!

LET'S PRAY...

Lord, it helps so much to be reminded that You are in my corner. Thank you for that. Now, my mind is made up! You put desires in my heart for good things in 2020. I am following your instructions to seek first the Kingdom of God and Your righteousness, and all these things will be added to me. That's the victory I seek! Not second, third place or a cloud formation. No sir, I set my affection on the stars, things above, where I'll find righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. I want this! And I want victory badly enough to keep pressing until I know that Your blessing is resting on every dream and plan in my heart. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Seasoning Faith, Pastor Sean

P.S.: If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior and want to be born again, pray this prayer aloud:

Lord God, forgive me for my sins. Jesus, come into my heart. I make you, Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
