Day 9 of 21 Days of Prayer. If I say, “Alexa, do my laundry”. She will say, "That is not one of the things that I'm able to do." If I say, “Alexa, play “Victory Belongs to Jesus with lyrics”, Alexa will play that song. Why? Because Alexa can only do what she has been programmed to do.
Alexa is a speech recognition system that will respond to commands that align with her built-in brain. If my request does not align with what Alexa has already been programmed to do, my request will be denied.
Just as you have to activate Alexa so that she can know your voice, you have to activate your voice with Lord so that he can know your voice. We will know His voice when we know the language of his word. When we communicate with God through prayer, praise, and worship, he hears us. When we know his voice, he knows our voice, and we follow him (John 10:27-28). The Holy Spirit wants to comfort us and help us in time of need.
God left us a Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who teaches us and bring things to our remembrance (John 14:26). But just like Alexa, the Holy Spirit only responds to our voice. When you say, "Holy Spirit, help me to develop better eating habits, the Holy Spirit will help you. Throughout the day you will get gentle reminders from the Holy Spirit to help you become more disciplined with your eating. Too often, we struggle because we're not asking the Holy Spirit to help us. The Holy Spirit is waiting on us to ask for help. Developing self-control and self-discipline aligns with God's word (Galatians 5:22-23). However, we must speak the language that the Holy Spirit responds to, which is the word of God.
Would you like the power of God to be present in your daily life? Pray to God, repent of all sins, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you. If you say anything by faith, it will be done (Matthew 21:21).

Lord, thank you for giving me your Holy Spirit. Thank you for instant access to faith, love, and wisdom. Holy Spirit, I ask you to be my teacher in every area of my life. Help me to recall everything that you teach me so that I can live a victorious life, in the name of Jesus, amen.
