It isn't Cool to be a Prating Fool

Day 11 of 21 Days of Prayer.

It isn't Cool to be a Prating Fool

"The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall." Proverbs 10:8

A prating fool launches out with superficial speech, speaking words that lack depth or understanding. It is a person who is always speaking but seldom knows what they are talking about. A person who spends more time talking than genuinely thinking through the "big picture" ends up with thoughts and words that clouds judgment. Eventually, they fall.

Whereas, the opposite is a person who is wise in heart. This person is more prone to listen, receive correction and yield to instruction. When you're wise hearted, you are not self-centered or conceited. Your relationship with God gives you balance. Unlike the prating fool, you're slow to speak, slow to anger and swift to hear (James 1:19). You realize that you don't have all of the answers and that doesn't cause you stress. Why? It is because you are wise in heart.

Lord, my prayer today is to be of few words and seek You for the answers I do not know. I will resist the urge to behave like a prating fool. You are my leader and I will follow You. I also acknowledge that the solutions I seek are found in Your presence. Instead of prating I will be praying. Give me a hunger and a thirst for righteousness. Guide me in the way of peace. Make me wise in heart so that I can hear Your voice and show others Your way. In Jesus name, Amen!
