DAILY DEVOTION

Revelation 3:8 ESV

“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3:9 MSG

“And watch as I take those who call themselves true believers but are nothing of the kind, pretenders whose true membership is in the club of Satan—watch as I strip off their pretensions and they’re forced to acknowledge it’s you that I’ve loved.”

Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.”

“I’m on my way; I’ll be there soon. Keep a tight grip on what you have so no one distracts you and steals your crown.”

“I’ll make each conqueror a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, a permanent position of honor. Then I’ll write names on you, the pillars: the Name of my God, the Name of God’s City—the new Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven—and my new Name.”

REFLECTION

Who wants an “open door “ blessing? Or, should I say, “Who doesn’t want an open door blessing?” We all want the blessings. The finished product looks good but we must be willing to do the work to obtain the prize. Open door blessings are activated by obeying God’s word, and not denying his name (Rev. 3:8).

Obeying God’s word and not denying him is synonymous to a man loving a woman. A man who loves a woman will go out of his way for her. He’s not ashamed to own her. He will not deny her in the presence of others because he truly loves her.

Contrariwise, if a man does not love a woman, he will not change his agenda for her. She doesn’t get primary treatment. She doesn’t get to go the altar with him in holy matrimony because he is not committed to her. She’s a part-time assignment without a contract. There’s no commitment. She doesn’t get the ring. She gets nothing. She doesn’t get the contract because he already has the contact. She doesn’t get wed, because he already has her in the bed.

I’ve heard women say, he wouldn’t do this, that, and the third for me but he married her and does everything that I wanted him to do. The answer is simple: he did not love you. A man will serve the one he loves.

Just as a man will recognize the woman he loves unconditionally, we are the same way with Jesus Christ. Women, perhaps if you truly commit to God and serve him unconditionally, the Lord will send to you the right man who will love you unconditionally. The same holds true for men.

The point is we will serve the ONE we love.

To love Jesus Christ means to obey his word. When we truly love Jesus Christ, we will not deny him. We demonstrate our love for Jesus Christ by serving in his kingdom.

If you want the open door blessings, we must move from spectator to true servant fellowship. Spectators never get dirty. They don’t have to wash uniforms. They are not required to attend practice or participate. They buy a ticket and enter the game to be entertained. The players in the game work hard, win championships, and Super bowls. They get the ring.

Your gift of salvation is not a free ticket to get out of hell. You are called to a purpose. You are called for a purpose. You are called to fulfill a purpose. You are called to get in the game. You will get tackled, but with the power of the Holy Spirit, you will get back up again. And you will win!

Change your membership from the club of Satan to the club of Jesus Christ, the undefeated champion of life.

You can’t be a 40-watt Christian expecting a 100-watt blessing.

In other words, you can't shack up with a man and expect 100%. The 100-watt blessing is for those who obey his word and are not ashamed to own his name.

You must be ALL-IN to receive the 100-watt blessing.

PRAYER DIRECTIVE

Ask the Lord to sanctify you and cleanse you with the washing of the water by his word. Pray for the lost (those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior).
