40 Days of Amazing Love – A love letter from God - Day 29 THE ONE LOST SHEEP
DAILY DEVOTION
Matthew 18:12-14
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And, if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”
REFLECTION
We serve a God who cares about everything we go through on a daily basis. Even when we wander off from his presence, he’s still concerned about us. The Psalmist David said,
Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.
It is not God’s will that any one should perish. Whereever you are, his Spirit is near by beckoning for you to come home.
PRAYER DIRECTIVE
Ask the Lord to reveal to you ways you can reflect his love to others.
