Our ability to see life in the way God designed it for each of us is directly tied to our desire to have a genuine encounter with God. But the clouds of worry, impure habits, selfishness and worldly illusion blur our vision so that we cannot experience God. We need a revelation – sight – information revealed that enables us to see through the cloudiness, to embrace what we could not see before. No matter how much you desire the realness of God, you’ll never encounter Him until you approach Him without pretense. That means you must be free from a heart encumbered by worry, distracted by habits, weakened by selfishness and blinded by illusion.
This is why Jesus said, ”Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).” When you are pure in heart, the eyes of a cloudy heart open, allowing understanding of God as He is, an acceptance of who He is and desire to receive His will for what it is. It is in that moment – the skies clear, revelation shines through like the sun and we encounter God, seeing the cross like never before.
Let us pray for the moment when people encounter the living God.
