POWER & INFLUENCE

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

"Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the [power and influence of the] Spirit of God can say, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is [my] Lord,” except by [the power and influence of] the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:3, AMP)". The Holy Spirit is our life-giver and inspiration. He gives us revelation.

Jesus tells us in John 16:7 (ESV), "Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you". Not only is the Holy Spirit our Helper, but he is our Advocate, our Comforter, our Teacher, and our Counselor.

Here are a just few examples of the power and influence of the Holy Spirit working in the lives of God's people:

  • The Holy Spirit intercedes for believers.

  • The love of the Holy Spirit motivates us to pray.

  • The power and influence of the Holy Spirit inspires praise and worship.

  • The power and influence of the Holy Spirit prompts the petitions, supplications, and thanksgivings of God's people.

  • The Holy Spirit of God has power and influence but He only responds when we ask for His assistance.

LET'S PRAY

Father God, I enter in through the blood of Jesus Christ. God, I ask for the power and influence of the Holy Spirit in my life. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to breathe life on my prayers, supplications, and thanksgivings. Open my eyes, Lord, give me revelation of your Word so that I may have clarity. Holy Spirit, I ask you to be my Advocate, Counselor, Comforter, Helper, Strengthener, and Teacher today, in the name of Jesus, amen.
