Can you believe it; we are halfway through our 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting. We are excited about the growth of this outreach as we notice new people are joining the Prayer Firewall Blog daily. Our goal is to be a well of refreshing for anyone who stops by.
Have you ever been thirsty on a hot summer day? All you could think about is some ice cold water to quench the thirst.
That was Hagar's situation as she journeyed through the hot desert (Genesis 21:12-19). Hagar and her child were in a dry place after they had been exiled from Abraham's home. She was at the point of giving up because it seemed as though there was no hope.
But, God heard her voice in the time of her affliction. He also heard the voice of the lad and reminded Hagar not to fear. God also reminded Hagar that He would make her son a great nation. At that point, Hagar's eyes were opened and she saw a well of water. The scripture reads, "And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink (Genesis 21:19)".
Our prayer today is that God will make High Hopes Church a well of refreshing for anyone who is thirsty.
LET'S PRAY
Heavenly Father, you have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. I will not allow fear to blind me from your wells of refreshing. I ask you to refresh me in the midst of my dry places. Cause rivers of living water to flow in my life so that I may be refreshed, as well as, those around me. I ask you, Lord, to make High Hopes Church a Well of Refreshing (Genesis 21:19) so that the ministry will consistently be a refreshing for people who are in dry places, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
