Pray for Children

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

Pastor Sean and I have a few favorite scriptures that we have prayed over our sons since before they were born. One of my favorite scriptures to pray is, "And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children (Isaiah 54:13)." As parents, we have a spiritual responsibility to pray for our children so that they can live out God's divine purpose for their being.

Our sons and daughters will have the life that we speak. Our children have a future and a hope in Christ Jesus (Jeremiah 29:11). Our children are set apart to serve God and God only will they serve (Psalm 4:3). We can frame their worlds by what we speak over their lives. Sometimes they can get on our nerves, like when their rooms get messy, but we must remember we will have what we say.

So, when we correct our children, as we should, let's also remember to apply God's word to their lives. Below are scriptures that you can start speaking aloud over your children. The word of God will change how you perceive them when you began to speak His word over their lives. The word of God will also equip you with godly wisdom and counsel so that you can help your children fulfill God's purpose for their lives.

Pray these scriptures aloud today. Even if your children are now adults, you can still pray for them because God's word never changes. Place your child's name in these scriptures and watch God move in their lives and yours too.
