Day 9 of 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting. As citizens of Heaven, it is our responsibility to pray for all political and spiritual leaders. The word of God instructs us to "First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)." This includes praying for the President of the United States, Congress, ambassadors, judges, those in the five-fold ministry gifts (pastors, preachers, teachers, apostles, and evangelists), priests, law enforcement officers, and all those who are in authority. In Romans 13:1, we are reminded that, "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God."

Take an attitude of prayer toward the leaders of this United States of America knowing that Jesus Christ is the Mediator who makes peace.
