Day 15 Effectual Fervent Prayer

Updated: Apr 5

Rejoice in the Lord today! It is day 15 of 21 days of prayer!! In our final week, let's consider James 5:14 where we find this question ~ "Is any sick among you?" The answer is obvious because we all know someone at some point in time who is sick. Sometimes we're the ones in need of healing. For someone somewhere, that is exactly the issue now. Know this, God cares enough about us to ask the question and provide the response. Verse 14 continues by telling us to call for the elders of the church but further down in verse 16 it also tells us this ~ "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." How interesting! We are to seek prayer and support from the elders of the Church, but we are encouraged to pray too! To request prayer and also, to be transparent with one another about who we are and to pray for each other. What a twist that is! If we obey this instruction, the result is that both the one in need of prayer and the one who prays, will be healed. That is the kind of prayer we need today. Prayer that has power, is the kind that is effective because it is fervent, without pretending, from the heart.

Join in this prayer today: Lord God, thank you for caring about our mental and physical health. When we are sick, we need your touch. Please touch our bodies. Remove known and unknown diseases, tumors, pain, and ailments that weaken us. Give us wisdom and the drive to take care of the body you have given to us. Move us to eat healthy, exercise, rest, and meditate on your Word. Clear our minds of suspicions, anxieties and cognitive disorders that attack our mental and emotional health. Set us free from sickness and all manner of disease. Lord, we ask You to make us whole. We confess Psalm 107:20 that says, "He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Thank you for that promise! Thank you for healing! Thank you for deliverance! Thank you for safety and provision! We praise You for your goodness and the wonderful works you perform in our lives every day. In Jesus's name, Amen!
