Day 5: Ending America's Civil War

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

Praise the Lord for Day 5 of 21 Days of Prayer. Fights, battles, arguments and of course, war, are difficult circumstances that we all face at some time in our lives. Recently, we've watched a civil war between law enforcement and African American citizens erupt in multiple cities, leaving distress, anger and uncertainty in many communities. Apart from exercising our civic duty in orderly and we'll thought out ways, what should we do? Where do we start the healing process? Proverbs 16:7 says, "When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." This is where the national discussion begins. It is the revelation, the mandate that God gives us in this current time. The answer is not inciting more anger with violence and unbridled vitriol. God compels us to understand that peace starts with what's in our own hearts! This nation can only be transformed by God's love through Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior, the Prince of Peace.

Love is the only force

capable of transforming

an enemy into friend.

Dr. King

Say this prayer: Lord, my thoughts are not always perfect. I ask you to search my heart and my thoughts. If there is any hatred, unforgiveness, or evil ways in me, remove it. Make me clean. I acknowledge my faults, repent of my wrong doing, and seek you to find peace in the midst of the storm. Lord, transform us as we obey your word so that we may heal and grow to end America's civil war! Cause my enemies to be at peace with me, my family, and my friends. Let the peace of God that passes understanding guard our hearts and minds in love. I pray that every civic and spiritual leader, every law enforcer, and every citizen will hear and receive this insight. Holy Spirit, take charge! We surrender our ways to your ways that they may be pleasing to you. Today, I pray for peace in America. Let your love transform our enemies into friends and end America's civil war. In Jesus's name, Amen! Inspiring Hope & Seasoning Faith, Pastor Sean
