Day 8 America's Futures

Updated: Apr 5, 2020

Thank God for day 8 of 21 days of prayer! We must pray for teachers, students, parents and the administrators of our schools and colleges. This unique group of people represent future generations. Our children need guidance and instruction, but those who teach need a moral compass that compels them in how to lead and teach. Daniel 11:32 talks about difficult times ahead and how wicked rulers will rise, then it says, "...but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits." So, our future lies in the hearts of those who walk by faith in God and not by sight. Meanwhile, Proverbs 22:6 encourages us, and parents in particular, to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." The way they should go is the way God intends. There's work to be done! We see moral decline and awful news reports because children who either rejected a proper and Godly upbringing OR were not taught at all, have become the adults who now power our society. Teaching and learning require a common desire to grow.

Say this prayer today: Lord, in the name of Jesus, I pray for teachers, students, and all places of learning to return to the way we should go and not depart from it. Make our teachers strong, equip them to do exploits of purity, morality, justice and clarity. Make them trustworthy mentors and role models our children can learn from. Cause students to reject rebellion, dishonor and violence. Free them from anger, bullying, depression and fear. Make them strong and equip them to do exploits among their classmates. We ask You to show up in the classroom, bring common ground and desire to grow between teachers and students. Protect them from rogue powers and delusional thoughts. Keep them safe. Give them the strength and presence of mind to blaze trails of unity, peace and focus that future generations will not depart. In Jesus's name, Amen.
