The Cross Work is a Finished Work

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

God chose each of us before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4). There isn't anything that we could have done to earn his love. He chose us not because of what we've done, but because of who He is. Salvation is a free gift from God that cannot be earned by anyone. Now, that's true favor.

The Greatest Gift of Favor

After receiving His gift of love [SALVATION], we have a responsibility to live the life and speak empowering words over our lives to continually experience the streams of prosperity and bonanzas in our natural lives. Nevertheless, the greatest gift of favor for all of mankind is salvation.

God's Favor is Always Fair

I’ve heard people say. “Favor ain’t fair”. That’s not true because God’s favor is always fair. His “Gift of Salvation” is indisputable. God’s favor [the gift of salvation] is fair and it is free. And it always will be free.

The Cross Work is a Finished Work

Now, when we take our eyes off the cross, we focus on material blessings and begin to compare our successes with others. The cross work is a finished work. The favor of Salvation cannot be compared to earthly goods. If one person is more prosperous than the other, we tend to think that the prosperous person has God’s favor and the person who is not financially prosperous does not have God’s favor. The truth is God’s will is to prosper us during this earth life. God rewards those who favors his righteous cause. Psalms 35:27 says,

Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.

Successful people are rewarded after preparation and discipline to follow through while maintaining a reverent and worshipful relationship with God. Favor is not luck but a reward. Stay faithful to what God has called you to do. His rewards are His favor. Proverbs 22:4 (AMP) states,

“The reward of humility [that is, having a realistic view of one’s importance] and the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord is riches, honor, and life”.

Yes, God’s favor is a part of the salvation plan, but we have a responsibility to live a life of humility and reverence to bring glory to Him in everything that we do.

LET US REFOCUS

“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also (Matthew 6:33, AMP)”.

LET’S PRAY

Heavenly Father, I refocus my attention on the cross work finished by Jesus Christ. I understand true favor. Forgive me for misunderstanding Your favor. Thank you that your salvation plan includes your favor to prosper me. Holy Spirit, I ask you to help me live the life and speak the right words over my life so that I will find the vein of prosperity and experience bonanzas in my life that will glorify God. Help me, Holy Spirit, to be diligent in my work (Proverbs 22:29) so that God’s favor of riches, honor, and life will follow me, In the name of Jesus, Amen.
