Day 17 Enjoy the Journey

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Greetings my friends! It's day 17 of 21 Days of Prayer. You must learn to enjoy the journey! Life is a journey that weaves over and around mountains, carrying us through valleys, exploring oceans and introducing us to experiences uniquely designed for each of us. In Matthew 6:27, Jesus asked, "Can any of you live a bit longer  by worrying about it?" Worry is one way we teach ourselves to despise the journey and that is not what God wants for any of us. He never intended that we would live void of the joyful experiences He's planned. So, make a decision today to get over the problems, get over yourself and get over other people's issues too! No matter what is thrown at you today, you can still choose to enjoy life to the fullest. Isn't that what the journey is really about? Going somewhere? Here's something to remember when you're on a journey ~ Sight seeing is not relocating. Think about that for a moment. You see it, experience it, learn from it and move on! You don't live there because you're on a journey and the only way to reach your destination is to keep moving. Never let "window shopping" define your destiny. Destination is achieved by sober minded grit determination, focused on finishing the journey, regardless of the stops along the way. There's no growth, no progress and no joy in being stuck at a check point. Get yourself unstuck and learn to enjoy the journey!

Say this prayer: Lord, today I realize I have a choice no matter what comes my way!  Therefore I choose to enjoy this journey You have given me. As the scriptures say in I Corinthians 2:9, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." Thank you for loving me enough to prepare adventures for me. I embrace those things you have planned for me. Help me learn the lessons of each and every step the journey presents to me. Show me how to help others enjoy their journey too! Use me to trigger growth and progress in every place I go. Surround me with people who are supportive, open to new challenges and receptive to being joyful even if the journey gets hard. Since You are the one who feeds the birds and clothes the wild grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, I am confident that You will take care of me. Lord, increase my faith! You are my Father in heaven and I know that You are fully aware of what I need.  My concern above everything else is according to Matthew 6:30-33, which is to seek first Your kingdom and what You require of me, knowing that everything else will be handled. Therefore, I will enjoy the journey. My confession today is to let go and let God!, Now ... let the adventure flow!! In Jesus's name, Amen!
