Welcome to Day 6 of our 40 day countdown to Easter 2019! We are delighted to have a contributing writer, Donald Polk, Jr. to join us in prayer today. It has been said, whatever consumes your mind will control your life.
Focus on pain, live a painful life.
Focus on betrayal, you’ll see betrayal everywhere you go.
Focus on anger, you’ll drive family and friends away with anger.
Focus on disappointments from your past and the past will rule your future. What are you focusing on?
Psalm 91:4-15 “Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.
LET’S PRAY (Prayer by Donald Polk, Jr.)
Dear God, thank you for blessing us with another day. Thank you, Lord, for your Grace & Mercy. Thank you, Lord God, for your favor. You are such a mighty and forgiving God. Help us to learn to be forgiving and not just forgiving but also forgetful! We need to learn to forget so we can move forward and leave hurt, lies, negativity, and pain behind us.
Lord, just like we can have faith and trust in you, the ability to focus on positivity should come easy!
Knowing that all things through Christ are possible, the focus [the center of clarity] that is already in us, Lord, we ask you to bring it out into our surface. Give us tunnel vision like none other on any task at hand.
Lord, as we pray this prayer, we ask you to forgive us for our sins. Open up our minds to truly believe that forgiveness is possible, not just an idea.
Searching through our hearts and learning to have forgiveness probably will require focus. So, please God grant us a new focus, a new center of clarity in our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’s name. Amen. Amen.

40 Days of Prayer & Fasting Instructions
In the first ten days of our 40 day countdown, our prayer and fasting period is from 7 pm to 9 m. Every ten days we will add three hours, extending the fasting period to 12 noon, then to 3 pm and finally to 6 pm. As we intensify this time of prayer and fasting, you should intensify your spiritual focus on letting go of the past, forgiving others and moving on to the greater things God has in store for you. (Jeremiah 29:11).
*Set aside 15 minutes each day to pray.
