As we enter into His presence on Day 2 of 21 Days of prayer, we understand that God's word protects. Psalm 5:11-12 declares, "But all who find safety in you (God's presence) will rejoice; they can always sing for joy. Protect those who love you; because of you they are truly happy. You bless those who obey you, Lord; your love protects them like a shield." When a man or woman truly understands the harmony of God's law, his favor, and the reality of the wrath to come, they will run to Him for cover (His presence). His shielding (God's presence) over us is a powerful source of joy and confidence!
We're not safe because of the absence of wrath but because of the
presence of God.
You may think that the Bible is a book of impossible standards. But, in fact, the Bible provides instructions on how to enter into his presence, which is protection from the consequences of a reckless and self-centered lifestyle. God's protection is in His presence. The danger that lies in stealth, waiting in deception, to unleash brokenness, fear, jealousy, rage, sickness, and anything else that defeats you or separates you from God can never exist in the presence of God. We are not promised freedom from troubles, but we are promised protection when we fall. That protection is the parachute of God's presence in your life!
We're not safe because of the absence of danger but because of the
presence of God.
PRAYER: Dear Father in heaven, I thank you for providing a parachute (Your presence) to save us from crashing when we fall. I understand what Jesus meant in John 16:33, when he said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." I desire to be at peace and have good cheer in spite of the trouble this world may bring. As I enter into your presence, teach me through Your word to overcome just like you promised. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight [God's presence] (Psalms 19:14). I rejoice because I find safety in your presence. I rejoice because I find wisdom, guidance and protection in your presence. I acknowledge that You are my Lord. You are my strength because of your presence. You are my redeemer because of your presence. Today, I am safe because of your presence. In Jesus's name, Amen!
